I tried a new coloring style on this one too, mwahaha.
Dexter crossed his arms and glared at them. "I don't have to do anything. Mandark's idiocy caused this in the first place. He can clean up his own mess."
DeeDee fixed him with a legitimately shocked, wide-eyed stare. "But lives are at stake, Dexter! And he didn't mean for that robot to go haywire. He didn't turn it loose on purpose; it was an accident. In terms of accidental mayhem you probably qualify as a villain too, you know."
"So? I still didn't make THIS robot and it isn't my responsibility to pick up after my nemesis," he stated flatly, leaving no room for argument.
Mandark knew there wasn't much chance of him beating his wayward creation on his own, but he had no choice. DeeDee was right. Lives were at stake.
And if hers wasn't one of them he probably wouldn't have cared, which was why he came to ask for Dexter's assistance in the first place. "I'll be going, then," he hissed at his diminutive rival. "Take care of DeeDee if I don't come back. I guess a Villain's death isn't worth much in the footnotes of history, even if he goes out a Hero."
"That isn't how stories work," DeeDee said meaningfully. "And I know a lot about stories. The best ones have nothing to do with Heroes or Villains at all; just people dealing with the cards they have in their hand at the time. You don't have to stop being a Villain to be the protagonist of the story. And you don't have to die to achieve redemption. Okay?"
He gave her an adoring look as that philosophical statement hit him like a sledgehammer. "As you will, my golden-haired angel. I pray I see you again somehow."
"And Mandark?" DeeDee asks kindly.
He turned back, taking a few steps toward her to hear that soft voice more clearly. "Yes?"
"It's dangerous to go alone. Take this," she said while maintaining an astonishing level of 'dead serious'.
"PUT ME DOWN, WOMAN!"
"SHUT UP, SUSAN!"
But how can Dexter be used as a wepon?
It doesn't make sense!!
But it's funny!
I just can't help laughing when Mandark is laughing!!!! HA!HA!!
But why would DeeDee ask Mandark to take Dexter to be his pet or something?
All so confusing!!!
This is amazing.
I was going for a kind of amused look like "ohoh, yes, I think I can manage, psh" but it was kind of difficult to bring across.
