Ever since i saw the Art Nouveau Disney Princess line, I really thought Pocahontas should be in there - she has the perfect Art Nouveau hair! I originally tried drawing her back in 2011, but it turned out pretty badly, so I recently got a chance to draw her again. I am much more satisfied with my current version - using Inkscape helped immensely.
As always, I used my trusty paper texture from

, and the landscape in the circle is a modified screenshot from the movie.

ETA: I decided to add this to

's Historical Disney Contest. I'm planning another entry too, but be sure to check out the contest and vote for your favorites!
The colors in this are stunning, and you didn't have to completely change the character in order to make her historically accurate. She's totally 100% recognizable. The colors are stunning and everything about her in this picture just -screams- "Free Spirit". Which is what she should be like. n.n; I love the way her hair is falling, I love how loose fitting her dress is, I love her pose and her anatomy, I love her face...
<3 Not to mention how the simplicity of it absolutely works in it's favor. It's not so busy that I can't appreciate the details you have on her and in the background.
